FINE ART PHOTOGRAPH OF THE WEEK: BUFFALO, CO

©Kelly Fitzgerald.  Buffalo, CO
Silver Gelatin Archival Fiber Base Print
16" H x 20" W
Limited Edition of 10
Price: $1,000 USD

While exploring the southern part of Colorado with my dear friend Rosalinda, we came upon this very large herd of Buffalo near the town of Westcliffe.  It was a sight to behold and an unforgettable experience!

Works from "The Colorado Series" are sold as limited edition fine art photographic prints.  Whether you are a first time or seasoned art collector, investor, or dealer, Kelly Fitzgerald and his Representatives give you the opportunity to acquire remarkable artwork that will appreciate over time and give you years of enjoyment.

Professional framing is available for an additional charge.

This work was created by using an old manual SLR film camera and Kodak Professional High-Speed HIE Black-and-White Infrared Negative Film.  Sadly, the film is no longer being manufactured.  The traditional negative is scanned on a drum scanner to create a 300 megabyte digital file which serves as a vehicle for the tonal balancing, lighting, and darkening that was formerly done in the darkroom.  Once the aesthetic interpretation is realized in the computer and matched with the artist proof print created in the traditional "wet" darkroom, the image is then printed as an archival silver gelatin fiber base print.

FINE ART PHOTOGRAPH OF THE WEEK: BIG PINE SOUTH FORK - I, CA

©Kelly Fitzgerald.  Big Pine South Fork - I, CA
Archival Pigment Ink Print
20" H x 24" W
Limited Edition of 10
Price: $900 USD

In the summer of 2011, I had the absolute joy of hiking in the Big Pine Creek area for the first time. Big Pine South Fork trail climbs beneath the Palisades Glacier and jagged peaks of the Middle Palisades to reach Brainard and Finger Lakes. The bridge across the South Fork Creek was destroyed by avalanche during the spring of 2011 making this creek difficult to cross.  Expect to get your feet wet and use caution with high spring runoff. Trust me, as one of my boots got trapped between two large boulders while crossing this creek and I was up to my neck in cold rushing water. I was wearing a heavy pack with camera gear. Thank goodness for my walking stick as it helped me to navigate out of the creek safely. As you hike further, the trail beyond Willow Lake becomes indistinct with rock cairns marking the way to the upper lakes.

Works from "The Western Landscape" are sold as limited edition fine art photographic prints.  Whether you are a first time or seasoned art collector, investor, or dealer, Kelly Fitzgerald and his Representatives give you the opportunity to acquire remarkable artwork that will appreciate over time and give you years of enjoyment.

©Kelly Fitzgerald.  Mokoli'i Island, O'ahu
Silver Gelatin Archival Fiber Base Print
20" H x 24" W
Limited Edition of 30
Price: $1,400 USD

Several Hawaiian legends tell of Mokoli'i, a huge dragon slain by Hi'iaka, the sister of the powerful goddess Pele.  Hi'iaka, a goddess in her own right, set the creature's tail flukes into the waters off windward O'ahu as a landmark and left its body as a roadbed on shore.  The island formed by the creature's tail flukes bears its name, Mokoli'i.  Also known as Chinaman's Hat, Mokoli'i is now part of Kualoa Regional Park.
