FINE ART PHOTOGRAPH OF THE WEEK: CHURCH PEW, JEROME AZ

©Kelly Fitzgerald.  Church Pew, Jerome AZ
Silver Gelatin Archival Fiber Base Print
30" H x 40" W
Limited Edition 30
Price: $1,800 USD

Located high on top of Cleopatra Hill (5,200 feet) between Prescott and Flagstaff is the historic copper mining town of Jerome, Arizona.  Once known as the wickedest town in the west, Jerome was a copper mining camp, growing from a settlement of tents to a roaring mining community.  Four disastrous fires destroyed large sections of the town during its early history, resulting in the incorporation of the City of Jerome in 1899.

Works from "The Arizona Series" are sold as limited edition fine art photographic prints.  Whether you are a first time or seasoned art collector, investor, or dealer, Kelly Fitzgerald and her Representatives give you the opportunity to acquire remarkable artwork that will appreciate over time and give you years of enjoyment.

Professional framing is available for an additional charge.

This work was created by using an old SLR film camera and traditional Black-and-White Film.  The traditional negative is scanned on a drum scanner to create a 300 megabyte digital file which serves as a vehicle for the tonal balancing, lighting, and darkening that was formerly done in the darkroom.  Once the aesthetic interpretation is realized in the computer and matched with the artist proof print created in the traditional "wet" darkroom, the image is then printed as an archival silver gelatin fiber base print.

FINE ART PHOTOGRAPH OF THE WEEK: BANYAN TREE, O'AHU

©Kelly Fitzgerald.  Banyan Tree, O'ahu
Archival Pigment Ink Print
20" H x 24" W
Limited Edition of 5
Price: $950 USD

This Banyan Tree has become quite popular since appearing in some scenes in the TV series LOST with fans of the show.  I created the piece "Banyan Tree, O'ahu" because this ancient tree was under threat of being destroyed at one time by a developer that wanted to build a resort on the land the tree inhabited.  I'll never forget seeing the giant Banyan tree for the first time.  The sheer size of it was mind blowing.  I feel blessed to have experienced these amazing places first hand and to have had the opportunity to document them.

Works from "The Hawai'i Series" are sold as limited edition fine art photographic prints.  Whether you are a first time or seasoned art collector, investor, or dealer, Kelly Fitzgerald and her Representatives give you the opportunity to acquire remarkable artwork that will appreciate over time and give you years of enjoyment.

Professional framing is available for an additional charge.

This work was created by using an old medium format film camera and Kodak Professional Plus-X 125 Black-and-White Film.  Sadly, the 120mm film size is no longer being manufactured.  The traditional negative is scanned on a drum scanner to create a 300 megabyte digital file which serves as a vehicle for the tonal balancing, lighting, and darkening that was formerly done in the darkroom.  Once the aesthetic interpretation is realized in the computer and matched with the artist proof print created in the traditional "wet" darkroom, the image is then printed as a warmed toned archival pigment ink print.

FINE ART PHOTOGRAPH OF THE WEEK: MARSH LAKE, CA

©Kelly Fitzgerald.  Marsh Lake, CA
Archival Pigment Ink Print
20" H x 24" W
Limited Edition of 10
Price: $900 USD

I began my hike after leaving Mosquito Flat, located at the end of Rock Creek Road.  At 10,300 feet, it is the highest trailhead in the Sierra.  Beautiful Marsh Lake is the second in a string of eight lakes along the Little Lakes Valley trail.  Peaks up to 13,700+ feet provide a scenic backdrop to the valley.

Works from "The Western Landscape" are sold as limited edition fine art photographic prints.  Whether you are a first time or seasoned art collector, investor, or dealer, Kelly Fitzgerald and her Representatives give you the opportunity to acquire remarkable artwork that will appreciate over time and give you years of enjoyment.

FINE ART PHOTOGRAPH OF THE WEEK: OLD STONE POSTS, O'AHU

©Kelly Fitzgerald.  Old Stone Posts, O'ahu
Archival Pigment Ink Print
24" H x 36" W
Limited Edition of 5
Price: $1,400 USD

Of all of the structures on this earth a pier is one of the few that is constructed both on land and in the water.  And yet, despite the test of time and the elements, even remnants of piers like this one in O'ahu, maintain their beauty. I find myself asking the questions: "Who stood here?" "Did it act as a dock for boats or a place for fisherman to cast out their lines?" The mystery of what is left of this pier is perhaps even more compelling than the complete structure itself.

February 17th -19th 2012

Featuring more than fifty top international art galleries exhibiting more than 2,000 carefully-culled works of post-war and contemporary art, the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair appeals to the sophisticated collector and casual fan alike. Punctuated by an Opening Preview Party on February 16, 2012, as well as an exquisite program of special events and exhibitions throughout the run of the show, the Palm Springs Fine Art Fair is a President's Day weekend retreat for art lovers near and far.

Palm Springs has long been a hidden gem of post-war art and culture. Located in the American Southwest’s stunning Sonoran Desert, just two hours east of Los Angeles, Palm Springs is a warm winter cultural oasis, boasting the highly regarded Palm Springs Art Museum, a thriving scene of more than 60 art galleries, and some of the nation’s most treasured Modernist architectural gems. The local art patrons and collectors are very well-informed, and the location of the fair is ideal, as it sits squarely between the Southwest’s major metropolitan regions—L.A., San Diego, Phoenix, and Las Vegas.
